Privacy
ChargerMap collects as little as possible. Here is exactly what that is.
Browsing the site
ChargerMap does not use cookies, ads, analytics or tracking of any kind. We do not build profiles of visitors.
Like every website, our web host keeps standard server logs, which include your IP address and the pages requested. These are used only to keep the site running and secure.
"Near me"
If you tap Near me, your browser asks for permission to share your location. Your location is used only inside your browser to move the map. It is never sent to ChargerMap.
The contact form
If you send a message, we receive your name, email address, topic and message. We use them only to read and reply to your message. They are never sold or shared.
To limit spam, we also keep a scrambled code made from your IP address (a one-way hash), not the address itself.
To have a message you sent deleted, contact us.
Outside services
To draw the map, your browser loads map images from OpenStreetMap (street view) and Esri (satellite view), and the map software from Cloudflare's cdnjs service. Those services receive your IP address when your browser requests these files, as with any website. Links to PlugShare, the Alternative Fuels Data Center and Google Maps take you to those sites, which have their own privacy policies.
